USA Men's Indoor Hockey Suffer a Second Loss at World Cup

At Spyns we are avid supporter of most sports. Growing up in New Zealand where Rugby is the dominate sport, I playing hockey because some of my class mates were 3 times my size (there were a lot of Jonah Lomu’s in my school). I’ve always loved watching hockey and playing indoor hockey. Hockey will be on at the London 2012 Olympic Games from th 29th July to the 11th August. Game 02 – Austria v USA 5-0

Austria managed to win their second game of the tournament by defeating USA 5-0. USA Men suffered their second defeat after losing to Russia on opening day of the World Cup.

Austrian team-captain Armin Stremitzer converted their second penalty corner of the match into a goal. One minute following Stremitzer doubled the lead. Michael Korper scored off of a backhand flick, making the score 3-0 going into halftime.

USA struggled to fight back in the second half. Austria immediately put their fourth goal on the boards at that the start of the second half. Before the end, Austria's Peter Proksch's scored to make the final 5-0. USA will challenge England this afternoon at 4:15pn local CET.

  • USA v England, Wednesday, February 9 at 4:15pm
  • USA v Czech Republic, Thursday, February 10 at 3:00pm
  • USA v Iran, Friday, February 11 at 5:30pm
